JUNE BIRDIES AT 27th JUNE 2008

Friday 27th June 2008

Don Hounslow had his first Goujon Birdie of 2008 at the 11th and John Woodward had two, at the 8th and 11th.

Tuesday 24th June 2008

A certain Mr Dowson recorded his first Goujon Birdie of the season, at the tricky 8th.

No Birdies

Tuesday 17th June 2008

A good day for Birdies, John Woodward at the 15th, Tom Wilding at the  18th but best of all, Ted Lewis at the the 9th AND 15th.

Friday 13th June 2008

It was Friday 13th for some but not Wilf Feely who Birdied the 5th and went on to win the overall.  Also to be applauded was Dick Turpin's Birdie at the 9th.

Tuesday 10th June 2008

Derek Partridge at the 11th is all that needs to be reported.

Friday 6th June 2008

A worthy Birdie by John Newbery at the 9th was the sum of it!

Tuesday 3rd June 2008

Nul Points from the Eurovision Birdie panel. It was raining pretty consistently most of the day so no Goujon game was engaged.

[some of us, though, had to play our doubles knock-out round!  Squelch, squelch, my trolley was rusted up by the next day]

MAY BIRDIES AT THE END OF MAY 2008

Friday 30th May 2008

A nice end to the month with the recent recovery of form by Edwin Langdale showing to advantage with his two Birdies at the 7th and 16th.

Tuesday 27th May 2008

No Birdies.  Hardly surprising considering only two players finished on a dodgy day weather-wise.

Friday 23rd May 2008

Those who were there saw something but was it a bird, was it a plane or was it a Partridge Birdie-ing the 6th?  Surely it was a slip of the pen?  Surely it was the 9th?  Well done anyhow, Derek Partridge.

Tuesday 20th May 2008

Just the one Birdie then?  Yes, courtesy of John Woodward at the 9th with a lucky long putt.

Friday 16th may 2008

No Birdies, game abandoned at the start due to a bit of rain.

Tuesday 13th May 2008

The wheels of the Birdie-Express are grinding exceeding slow right now, but our Derek Partridge did manage to sneak one in at the 9th.

Friday 9th May 2008

After a vicious little Spring shower the weather was perfect for Birdie-making.  However, the motley crew failed to produce a single one!  Shame.

Tuesday 6th May 2008

He's done it again! Jim Saxton had the only Birdie of the day and it was at the 11th.

Friday 2nd May 2008

Celebrating a return to the links in style aboard his personal buggy, Tom Wilding almost had an Eagle at the par 4 12th hole but had to be satisfied with a Birdie.  Off to a fine start in the merry month of May.  Nice!
